Diy Coffee Scrub

I have read and heard a lot about coffee scrubs lately. They are supposed to be really good for your skin and are able to help with a lot of things. I have wanted to try it out but didn’t want to go online and buy it. I had often thought about making it myself and thought it would be pretty easy to do. The other day I saw a packet of coffee grinds that hadn’t been used in a while and decided to use that. I don’t drink coffee and my family had moved on to a different type so this packet was just sitting there half used.

It was so quick and easy to make and I was really happy with how it turned out.

I decided to use one cup of the plunger coffee grinds as I wanted to have some for more than one use and I thought one cup was also easy to remember.

I then melted the coconut oil by placing my cup in a bowl of hot water. It was about 1/2 a cup when it was solid and melted down to about 1/4 cup.

I added the coconut oil to the coffee grinds and mixed it together. I did add it into muffin cases but then decided to put it into a plastic container with a lid as it would be easier to use in the shower.

In the shower after I was all clean I turned the water off and took small scoops of the coffee in my hands and rubbed it all over. It was quite messy and I found that using smaller amounts at a time helped it to stay on easier and I wouldn’t have as much falling off. I covered myself with the coffee and left it on for a while. I was going to leave it on for 10 minutes but I didn’t have anything to time myself with so think it was probably only about 5 minutes. It took quite a bit to wash it off and I did notice that the floor got a little slippery from the coconut oil so I was just a bit more careful when I was standing in the shower. It might have been a bit easier to wash off if my shower was more powerful but the water pressure here isn’t the best. It left my skin so soft though and I would definitely use it again.
